If u want to make a image file to hard drive u need to use NT4 or Windows Xp or Windows 2000 as u need to convert ur HD to ntfs format to cope with large files (Silent Hill 2 is 4.2GB) I use DVD to DVDr but still use Win 2000 for stability.
