Problems with Booting up DVD-R Backups

My PS2 is a v7 modded with a Messiah2 and I've been having trouble getting my DVD-R backups to boot up. This problem only occurs with my newest backups. I've done a lot of testing and it seems to be the brand name of DVD-R I use. My older backups that have no problem booting up are an older version of Memorex DVD-Rs. Unfortunately, I cannot find these older ones anymore and it seems my PS2 is very, very picky. I've spent money on small packs of TDK, Optimum, CompUSA, Maxell and 2 newer types of Memorex DVD-Rs...none of which are working. I'm sure it isn't the actual game since I've been testing each one with a backup image I know has no problems. Another solution I tried was buying a Disc/Laser cleaner and although it helped my good DVD-R Backups to boot up faster, it had no impact on the different brands of DVD-R. Well, hopefully one of you PS2 gurus can help me figure this out because I'm clueless and sick of spending money on DVD-Rs that my PS2 doesn't like. Thanks in advance .

Where you located? If you are in the states I can send you a few Ritek. They are the best dvd media around.

I'm in Northeast Ohio, you don't have to go as far as sending me DVD-Rs, but thanks a lot for letting me know about Ritek. I'll order some online and hopefully those will work. Thanks again.

On second though, do you think you could point me to somewhere that sells Ritek? lol...when i was first trying DVD-Rs i went to Staples, CompUSA, Best Buy and Circuit City and I bought small packs of every brand name they had. Unfortunately they had no Ritek or I wouldn't have to bother you. Thanks.

Yay! . I know you're tired of hearing it from me, but thanks again!

EDIT: Ah yes, one more question: Do I want Silver or Purple bottom?

Never heard of silver bottom. They have a silver top and purple bottom.

hmm....well it turns out that the Ritek DVD-Rs that I ordered don't want to work on my PS2 either. I've been using nero to burn my .iso files. Any suggestions?

Don't use Nero, use RecordNow Max and just do an exact copy.

hmmm...well I actually got it to boot up, once. I tried my backup of Ratchet and Clank which didn't work, then I went back to my first backup that booted (Devil May Cry 2) and now I can't boot up again .
