backing up the sims

I am trying to back up the sims and the sims hot date, I did the zoo tycoon and it did find, when I try the sims, it's not reading the disc, it just keeps spinning, the disc itself is fine and it says it has safedisc copy protection on it, does it has some other kind of copy protection on it? I'm using clone cd and clony. Thanks.
