Sometimes one of directX files get damaged because of bad shutdown,.....
for reinstalling directX, go to microsoft website and download it from there. pls note, you can't unistall directX, only you can reinstall it. Maybe the updated driver fix your problem. after updating driver, if you still have no sound, go for reinstalling directX, after that if you still have no sound then I don't know what's the problem
