The "Plextor EXTERNAL PX-504UF 4X/2.4X/12X DVDWRITE/DVD-REWRITE/DVD-READ" is in the $300 range which is doable for me. I couldnt find the Pioneer on pricegrabber but on pricewatch I found a "PIONEER DVR-A05 External (USB 2.0) 4X DVD-R/RW, 16X8X32X CD-R/RW with Software" for about $230.
THATS A PRETTY BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE!
My next thing while looking for a write is finding software that will allow me to work, edit, convert formats, and such for video to DVD so I can play it in DVD players of hopefully all types. That requires more research, but its all fun!
