Cool More CloneDVD (www.elby.ch) Issues

Hi. First of all, I'd like to thank MadBob for helping me out on my first issue with CloneDVD. Now, another problem has popped up.

I now have the neccessary files to burn my DVD. My "ripped" folder ended up being about 7.83 GB in size!!!

At the main page, I choose the "Clone DVD" option. Then, I tell the program what folder to retrieve my files from. Next, the files appear like they should (with EVERYTHING checked). Then I go to the "Audio and Subtitle Settings" screen. Everything's okay there. After that, I am at the "Output Method" screen (and, yes, the "DVD Writer" button was selected). Everything looks okay here, as well.

Now is where the problem kicks in. After I clicked the "Go!" button, an Error Message Pops Up:

Error Creating DVD Files

Creation Of DVD Files Not Successful:

VobSet 0 64 65 0 0 TCE

Have any ideas on how to solve this problem??

Thank you for your time.

Cool

I don't mean to sound dumb, but, no, I haven't even heard of "DVD Shrink". After I ripped my DVD, using DVD Decrypter, I checked my destination folder and all of the necessary files were there. The wierd part was that the file size was greater than 4.7 GB. The size was actually 7.83 GB!!!

This "DVD Shrink" program; will it remove the encryption like Decrypter does??

Do you think that because the size (of the ripped files) was > than 4.7 GB, that that's why I got the "Error Creating DVD Files" message??

Thank you for your time.

This file size is not weird because most commercial dvd's are dual layered (DVD-9) so they can store a lot more data that your conventional dvdr.
So therefore to get the movie onto 4.38GB you have to compress the movie and/or strip the menu and extras etc.
Read the sticky in DVD Backup forum to see what programs will do what.

CloneDVD will do the shrinking after DVD Decrypter has left with useable files.

Issue Solved!!!

My problem is solved!!! I used DVD Shrink to remove the encryption and to compress the movie files (just below the 4.7 GB limit). Then I went to CloneDVD and it created the DVD files (and burned them) just fine!!!

The only drawback is that, because you are dealing with more movie and menu files than usual, it takes a lot longer to rip. It took 1 hr and 21 minutes just to rip the DVD.

Other than taking longer to rip, my problem is finally solved!!!

Thanks to all that helped.
