Hello.
I need some help looping .WAV files before converting them to .ADX. I use the tool called "adxencd", and the output is something like this: Input sound data file: 'SONG01_00000.wav' ADX Compressed data file : 'SONG01_00000.adx' Sampling frequency : 44100 Hz = Input sound data No. of channels : 2 Input audio sample : 284666 smpl = 6.0 sec <44100 Hz> ADX output sample : 284666 smpl(Blk:284672 smpl) = 6.0 sec <44100 Hz> .................... As some of you can discover, this is one of the sound files from Crazy Taxi 1 (extracted from SONG01.AFS). I wanted to replace with another tune, so I´m playing with this tool. The question is, WHICH number I need to make a perfect loop, in the flat "-lpe" adxencd SONG01_00000.wav -lps0 -lpe284666 or adxencd SONG01_00000.wav -lps0 -lpe284672 ? Thanks |

to make the song loop, you have to first convert it to adx and use the adxencd again with the number you have. you use the number before the smpl =........
so if you want to loop a song type adxencd song_000 -lps0 -lpe(the number before smpl) the song is already in adx so you don't need to put in the type/format. i have a little problem with the marvel vs capcom 2 music. i have looped my songs perfectly and with out any noise distortion but when i play the game or push a botton, the song just fades into the background so what you really hear is the char. voices. does any body know how to fix this problem? thanks

Speaking of looping. Is it possible to loop a song lets say it reaches 3 min. and make it loop back to 1 min.?

You´ve ever tried?
One more question: Which is the best rate to convert a WAV to ADX. I used to work with 44hz stereo files, but when they´re converted to ADX sound very choppy. It is better to use 22 kz mono files ? |

about looping it back to 1 min...i think it is possible. but i don't know how to do it. you probably need to know the sample number for the one minute. and then just loop it back to that number.
like adxencd -lps(one minute number) -lpe(the number) you know what i mean...i haven't tried it yet...so i don't know if it will work.

The version of adxencd with the final Katana SDK supports -lpa which loops the whole song.
In answer to your question though, the padding data is just blank sectors and not even played, so you want it to loop at the end of the actual samples. It won't make any difference though. |

how do you set the rate? i am curious because when i have it converted and put it into the game...it just fades in the background. maybe this is the cause of the rate? i don't know. but isn't the rate just how fast it is converting?
