Odd bios on V7 not booting DVD-r
I have been running into V7 systems w/ odd looking bios # on the bios chip. Like B 10070 2345 and other odd combinations. And on every one Once I install a chip it wont read DVD-r at all. It boots original DVD, CD-r back ups ps1 and ps2, nd original CD but no DVD-r. I have put 3 different chips in these system 3.1, M2pro 1.3 and DMS3 2.0 and all have the same result. I tried adjusting the laser and that didnt help. Has any one else run into this before?

That's a standard v7 BIOS. So the issue is likely to lie elsewhere. When we had problems of this sort on the odd v7 Laser Azimuth adjustment did the trick in conjunction with Ritek DVD-R. And imean that!

Also give the lens a real good polish.
Get a cleaning disk and run it through dry about five times, if no joy run through wet 5 times and if still no joy very gently get a cotton wool bud directly on the lens, first a wet one then a dry one. Have run into this a lot on version 5's.

I have been using Ritek media. I will try cleaning the lens, I'll let you know.
