You do NOT need a mod to play backed up dvd movies. DVD X Copy is the easiest dvd copy program. It keeps original dvd quality but usualy requires two dvds, as most dvd movies are dvd9. Or you can go with dvd2one. This program compresses the movie to fit onto one dvd, usually with little noticeable loss in quality. DVD X Copy Xpress also does this, but only keeps the movie itself, removing the menu and extras. This allows for less compression necessary.
