Gameshark Backup
Well lets see here.
I have the gameshark bonus cd that comes with the gameshark 2. It works great as a boot disk btw, but thats not the problem. I downloaded the gslite file from gcw and burned it using cdrwin 3.9 but the ps1 doesnt recognize it. Any clue what I may have done wrong? I would gladly just backup my scratched gameshark bonus cd if i knew how, but I dont need any coasters. Anyone who might know how to copy it (from experience, not from your cousins uncles' brothers' dog or something) I would be most grateful for the info. |

Do you have a mod installed?

Gameshark backup
Nope, no mod. Thats what I'm using the bonus disk for.
Don't tell me it wont boot the cd unless its chipped. That would suck. |

If you are trying to use a backup of a boot disc, it won't work unless your system is modded.

I have a Jap PS2. I got myself the Japanese Limited Edition Action Replay 2 V2. Instead of the normal dongle, there is a dongle with built in Mega Memory 8.
My problem is with booting the PSX disc to use with the swap trick. It gets to the screen with horizontal scrolling background, where it checks for presence of the dongle. If there is nothing in memcard slot, it asks for 'Action Replay hardware', and also does that if there is a normal memcard in the slot. However if there is the dongle in the slot, whether I have already put it in or if I insert when it asks for it, the program freezes! This is very frustrating. So far I have played no PSX games on my PS2, since my PS2 is not from my native region. I contacted Datel, and they were not much help, saying that the program needed a normal memory card, not the dongle, pretty stupid of their support team. Anyone reading this able to shine light on the matter? |
