Oh sorry, i was thinking you mean a LAN game, but you mean online. Don't know why you get this error.
In LAN game each one need the same game version (updated to newest version is best) and each one need his/her own CD-Key. We had a LAN game and a friend has forget his own CD/Case/Key. We installed the game from a backup with my CD-Key. The game runs fine for a while until he gets kicked.
