how good is the no solder v4 chip?

I'm failing to see how the USB Neos are in any way related to the internal Neos.

At any rate - your friend MIGHT get irritated if/when he ever wants to play DVD backups. I didn't care about a single swap, but double/triple swaps got to me and I upgraded my chip.
