i was asked to install this clip chip for a customer but could not get it to boot cdrs at all so I installed a judus and it worked perfectly ....these clip chips are more trouble than they are worth!!
If it is the clip version then try soldering all the points instead of using the clip...

Clips are just pure crap. Try installing the chip by soldering the points and save yourself all the hassle. Uninstall the clip and start again using the chip only. If you feel confident enough to install a clip, then what difference is a couple of wires going to make by installing the chip only? Ditch the clip - They are useless as the chips can become unseated easily etc, etc. Install the chip ONLY!

Did you check the pins and that none are bridged? If so, you could have blown a fuse on the Motherboard. Maybe someone who is a professional chipper could help you. I'm sure one will reply sometime. I'm more of a Software/Troubleshooter expert, but I've seen a lot of this type of problem...
