Good news for you.
"Arkane Studios & JoWood have released the final patch v1.17 for Arx Fatalis, which was available as beta for a few days already via E-Mail. The patch fixes a crash with the inventory & a bug with sounds settings not being remembered" http://arx.rpgdot.com/index.php#16186 and I saw on Nforce, Fairlight has released a crack, so that should be available soon.
