chose to start a new thread the other was getting quite heated. Rince didn't mean to offend you but you didn't really answer my question. I wanted to know why there was no crack that WORKED and not about alcohol, i have it and it doesn't ALWAYS work.

Anyways the point of this is I am at work at the mo so cant try for myself but was curious does that new updated patcfh that has just been posted for UK/US actually work online? Does anyone know?

Can any one actually help me. Has any one got this game to work online since the new patch came oput, with a backup copy that is?

what is the reason for this forum? I thought it was to share ideas, find CRACKS/PATCHES and help others do the same. Most of my posats have related to playing generals online because well that is wht i am currently trying to do. So what is the problem with that?

yes i do play online with my orignial, but my copmputer is networked with my flat mates and the cheapskates at ea wont let us play each other with one set of original discs, they want us to by two copies of the stupid game so that we can play against each other on a network at home (stupid). So that is why i am after a no cd patch for the game, as they keep saying games are different versions, both online and on the network. Have you got any solutions then plz CIRKUTZ.

using the same copy of the cd wont work online, considering both of you will be using the same key... if you have 2 different keys then you should have 2 original cd's as well so put the cd's in, play the game online, everyones happy.. and if the servers are saying the games are different versions then upgrade your copy to the same version the server is using..

oh and another thing, if you think i simply post just to get my posting numbers up you're sadly mistaken, i really dont care what my post number is here, it doesnt really matter a damned bit.

cheers for the advice tippex, seriously. However we are just tryting to play between our selves, linked with cables not online. We onlyhave one copy of the original CD's that is why we are having trouble. That is why i needed the no cd patch. Because when i am not playing my flatmate i would like to be able to ply onlie as well. But currently i can do only one or the other. We would have to uninstall and reinstall the copies each time we want to change playing from our network to playing online. With a no cd key i could put a copy on my comp and run it, he could use the original to run it in his comp and we would be sweet, that is with different cd keys obviously.

It seems stupid since we currently have a set of original discs to go out and spend another $100 to get another set. Crazy. So can you see my problem? Other than me been a cheapass that is.

So any suggestions would again be appreciated.

listen,.. if you used the no-cd exe and game.dat for version 1.04 just upgrade to 10.5 with the patch,.. then get the game.dat file for 1.05 (on this iste). Then just use the 1.04 exe file and it will run as 1.05. Now your problem is solved. ALso I know this **** works because I did it and others that i told did it too, and it WORKS!

cheers palpatine, it does work but it doesn't then allow you to play onlinje. I can load up online and chat etc but when i actually try to connect to the games it says "Games different versions".

And been able to play online and at home is the aim of creating the backup cd. And cheers anyway tippex i didn't think you guys would be allowed to answer the prvious post, i just put it there to straighten out why i need the no cd that worked online.
