I would assume it's not disabled on the motherboard, they you probably couldn't use the system for dvd games. It probably just doesn't have the drivers on any of the chips. The only thing that might work is to take a chip out of a normal PS2 and put it in your system. You'd have to find out what one has the drivers stored on it. I highly recomend not trying that though, I have my doubts if it would even work.

It'd be better to just buy a cheap dvd player for work. Like an Apex, they're like $50 and play just about everything you throw at it.
