Help with DVDXCOPY?

Hi, I just tried backing up my first dvd using dvdxcopy and the burn was successful, but it didn't work when I tried playing it in my sony dvd player. The program had prompted me if I wanted to omit the special features in order to fit the dvd on just one disc? I clicked on yes. I used the default burn engine, everything else is set to it's defaults. I don't know why dvdxcopy burned two dvds when I told it to just burn it on one, without the special features? For disc one I used a verbatim dvd+r and this disc wasn't even recognized by my dvd player, it just keep spinning and spinning. On disc two I used a verbatim dvd+rw and it worked on my dvd player, except I kept seeing alot of errors during the movie. For example, I saw little squares appearing out of nowhere during the movie. Error after error. What am I doing wrong? I thought dvdxcopy was the best program to get? Please help?

Dvdxcopy is the best, you just don't know how to use it correctly yet. When you get the option to fit it onto one disc with special features removed, the first disc is the movie, the second one is the special features you chose to ommit. If you don't want the special featues don't burn the second disc. Not all dvd players play burned dvds. Go here to see what media is compatible with your dvd player.

The media I am using now has worked on my dvd player before. I burn dvd home videos using pinnacle 8 and never had a problem with my verbatim cd+r. The funny thing is that you had mentioned that cd #1 is the movie and cd #2 is the special features? Well that was completely opposite in my case. Disc one didn't work at all and disc two contained the movie but with errors. What default settings should I use? And if I choose UDF willl that help or degrade the quality? thanks

If you have an updated version of Nero, try using the Nero option but don't check the UDF box. If this still doesn't work, try checking the box. Everyone has their own method that works with their setup, you just have to find it.
