PS2 disassembly problems

I agree that it is probably not worth modding a v1. I have done one version 1 install that worked but it had a brand new laser from sony in it. If you go here and do a search for "4pin" you should find someone that has also had the same problem and lists a link to a site that has alternate solder points that are all on the front. This is how I found my diagram, but it takes some searching.
