new to this game

hello all

i hope you can all help me here, i have just bought a pioneer A05 dvd-rw drive fitted it into my pc and is running well.

i have tryed to backup one of my dvd films using dvd decrypter, then dvd2one. so i now have a dir on my hard drive with all the video files. i used nero 5.5 using the wizard i copied all the files into a video_ts dir and let it burn. once it was finished i was all happy and tryed it in my dvd player, Panasonic 5 disc dvd player. and nothing nada not a jot. i came up on the screen this is not a proper dvd, please insert a new disc.

can anyone help, its prob something stupid but it is really starting to cheese me off as ive tryed this 6 times to no avail.

also tryed using dvdxcopy and it never worked either.

please help

Nero had a bug in it which caused it not to make "true" DVD's, ie would not play in alll DVD players.

This problem is fixed in Versions 5.5.10.7 and above.

V5.5.10.15a is currently available at www.nero.com.

You should find your DVD will work OK after this.

There's more.

I think DVDXcopy only supports PAL DVD from v1.4 onwards.

The earlier versions of DVDXCopy only supported NTSC (eg USA) format movies.

UK PAL support was added later.

What version dvdxcopy did you try? Many problems have been fixed in 1.4.1
