Sorry for my dissapearance in this thread guys.
I think I have found a work around. Similar to other chips, the Apple seems to dis-engage it self if you hold the power for about 6-7 seconds on startup ( Longer than you would if you were booting a PS1 game ) It may just be luck, but it has booted 1/1 everytime I do this and the PS2 logo screen is not in gravure. Give it a shot apple-owners.
