Bogus strings with Pal-Patcher? (Megalex this is for you)
I've reimaged Ray Blade JAP with DJ for a friend.
I have a PAL DC+RGB Cable, and this game works with no problem, but just for curiosity, I've scanned it with Pal-patcher 1.1, which has found a 50 Hz code. What does it mean? The game has no black borders and no problems booting. I've scanned only the 1st_read.bin. Is it possible that Pal-patcher finds strings that are actually not what they seem? I have activated only the following slots: 50 -> 60 Hz PAL Protection 1 PAL Protection 2 Process only 1st read file I'd like to know this, in case it happens in the future (I've used Pal-patcher many times on really protected games, but this is the first time I find a code for an already working game). This code is in fact a zone detection.
Sometimes, it forces 50 or 60 Hz, but sometimes, it simply lets you choose between these 2 modes (so that if you patch it, you won't have choice anymore). Use it only if other patches didn't work : sometimes, it really removes a protection... |

Ok, thanks, now I got it clear.
But anyway this game has no 50/60 selector like any other JAP game, so I suppose it's just some auto switch... BTW, I've read your post about unpatchable titles: I confirm that I've never been able to patch those titles as well. And I would add Tsuushin Taisen Logic Battle Daisessen to that list, as it cannot be patched with any tool, although it is not a WinCE game... Also, Memories Off and Roomania #203 looks more like a NUKE rather than a protection, since they don't work an JAP DC too. Cheers! ![]() WeeZee |

Roommania is said to be a fake (rather strange, seems all files seem to be here)...
Memories Off works fine on my DC, but not with my original cable. I don't have Tsuushin Taisen Logic Battle Daisessen. I might have a look if you send me 1st_read.bin... |

Roommania is not fake. The audio files are all to the game, the textures are as well. I want a good rip of this hardcore. Strange no one else is interested in this game. I have New Roommania for PS2, but I really want to play the original to see if it's worth buying if I have the "New" version. I recently got a copy off P2P. I asked the people serving it if it was a fake. None of them answered. I thought it might be a new rip (it's been long enough for one), but of course, it was the same old nuke.

I've got 2 versions : MGRiSO and kupra.
None of them works. I've never seen anybody claiming it works on his DC. I think it's protected, and noone yet found how to make it work 100%. |

I asked Kupra if he ripped it himself, but he didn't answer. Do you know if he did? If not, I'll rip my GD that is coming in the mail this week.
