if a dvdr movie boots on same media but goes to browser few seconds i would say ps2 can read media but it struggles takes few secs extra

magic 3 has timing issues so if the ps2 takes longer to read the dvdr game it misses the boot sequence and fails

the messiah2 would boot them np

although your problem has been known on a few v7 u could try looking in the factiod dvdmedia and issues(stickied at top of the forum)
