Anyone had problems with : PS2 No Solder Mod Chip Version 4?

i got a no solder 5/6 works great but if ur getting disk read error when trying to load ur gameshark2 some reason them things only work for a certin amount of time on older ps2 systems cause my friend bought a gs2 when he first got ps2 back when they was 300$ and the gs2 worked for a long time and one day would not work no more gave disk read then he bought new gs2 worked 2 times then disk read and sence them he has not bought no more and this is also funney i had a brand new 30001 R ps2 which i useing now and i bought a gs2 ver 1.8 off ebay still packed in package and i opend it stuck in my ps2 and guess what disk read error i never got that gs2 to work so i went to walmart and bought a new one ver 2.0 and it works great so i trade the older one with new one got my cash back and i use it to boot games but when i trun the ps2 on goto browser screen and then put gs2 in it will disk read u got to have the gs2 in when u turn on ur systemconfused
