Well it seems the Cyclone Messiah 2 clone I was originally asking about has been discontinued, only a day after i first looked at the site!! : http://www.cyclonechip.com
Without out anyone here to offer reports/recommendations on them, I couldn't even consider it anyway... who knows what i would be getting ?! So I guess I'm back to the original messiah 2. I'll still keep the Apple 2 and Magic 3.1 on my list, but I'll need to look into them more to see if the cost saving is worth it.

I can understand keeping the Apple 2 on the list...... BUT why would you keep the Magic 3.1 on the list....?
 Especially after all the reported problems with it.....

Thats not fair BG, there is a difference between Magic3 & 3.1! The reported probs are not with 3.1.

Oh bother...
Well i read some ppl saying they have no probs with the Magic chips and others saying its buggy. I reckon I'll have to settle on the authentic Messiah 2. The Apple 2 sounds appealing but the lack of DVD9 support maybe an issue in the not to distant future. Gonna make some calls 2moro nght re Messiah 2. Cheers blokes

Magic 3x are economy chips! They have their own market. Messiah2 is the top dog, maybe if I lived in a more prosperous area, everybody would be able to afford the extra £10-15 that the Messiah2 costs!
We all know peeps have their own budget, and no matter what you say they will take the low cost option. In these circumstances, I personally feel the Magic series are fit for purpose! Sure if somebody can afford the top dog then buy it, but otherwise.....................
