Burning problem w/ gearpro

Hi, I found a tutorial on ripping a dvd9 to a dvd5 online and i followwed it to the end except when i tried to burn it using gearpro it doesn't burn because I have a memorex dvd+rw and i guess it burns dvd-r only, but i was wondering if there was any way i could burn my video ts file folder using my dvd+r writer. Also i tried using nero, but it didn't work either so any help would be greatly appreciated

make sure it VIDEO_TS and not video_ts
stomp record max is a fantastic burning program
