Maybe a handy little tip : whenever you have a cd that you can't read, try to read it at the lowest speed possible. You can edit a CloneCD profile (like "Game cd") to change the read speed to 1x. Most cdwriters do not support 1x anymore, but the program will use the lowest speed possible (in my case 4x) and this will always give you better results than trying to read it at full speed (default). It may not work, but often it does and I've saved quite some cd's with it. Try to make sure that if this works, you make a new cd with the image.

If the game has a securom new protection or your writer doesn't really support safedisc 2, you can burn the image files themselves to a new cd. Every time you need that cd, you can always copy the image files back to your hard disk and mount them using Daemon Tools. Oh, and if you managed to make an image, it really pays to check it with CD Mage. This will allow you to find read errors, it sometimes fixes them, and it can locate the files that are damaged. Safedisc 2 has a lot of errors that are not part of a file, so do not try to correct those.
