Battlefield 1942

Well,

I did search, read all the post about the 1.2 patch, did everything wrote there, but I still can't play the game, I mean, I tried every single tricks... but when I try to start the game, it just doesnt do anything... no error message, no black screen, nothing!

I'm on windowsXP and if anyone have experiment the same problem, please tell me how you guys fixed it... By the way, the game did start and worked with the 1.0 patch, so my installation is working.
