burning dvd games - pleeze help

Hi, I`m new to this but i hope someone can give me an answer or else point me in the right direction.
I`m going to buy a DVD writer for my PC for burning DVD movies & was wondering if i can make copies of DVD ps2 games with it.
Which mod chip will i need for my PS2 & will the DVD backups need patching ?

Yes, get an A04 or the new A05. Use PrimoDVD to backup your games, read the sticky above for help. Also there is no need to patch DVD games, as there isn't any protection on them as far as i know.

Messiah or Messiah 2 are excellent mod chips, direct boot for everything. Me personally, i wouldn't bother with any other mod chip on the market.
