I'm usure about where you can purchase one in the UK... (I'm in the US) Charlie_PS2, Dust2Dust, or PSXPaul can probably tell you where to get them..
The main difference between the A04 and A05 is speed. Take a look at a post I did a little while back on the A05... It shows the difference between the two. Pioneer DVR-A05 specs page!
