Hmm

From what I've gathered its not guaranteed or even likely. Some seem to, but Dvd-r is safe. Dvd+r will work on some versions, and not even all the time. Could be wrong.. I just a junior =-)

+r/+rw can really only be read on the newer models. there r reports from some users that they've gotten it to work in a v4. But it's not worth the hassle of trial and error. Buy a -r/-rw drive and don't look back.

BG is on a distinguished road
IF you have a V5 or above PS2, it MAY read the +R format... (May not)... Much better off sticking with a -R drive... If you just have to have the +R drive, buy the new Sony that will burn both...

How about DVD+RW

I am using DVD+R Laser and DVD+RW supplied CD from Ricoh, I got DVD burner ricoh,
have you tried using DVD+RW??, because it seem doesnt work with my PS2 Version 7, I use stomp record max, 1X writing, I just scared to try on DVD+R because once I burn it, there is noway you can undo it.

I dont want to try on DVD+R because I heard that how player recognize DVD+RW or DVD+R is the same (it is not like CD-R and CD-RW right, it is different even from player perspective).

do you think if it is failed using DVD+RW it dosnt mean it will also failed using DVD+R ???, could it be working???

My PS2 will NOT work with DVD+R/Ws. Test the DVD+R out though, the media isn't that expensive now and if it works then you'll gain in the long run. Try it. Might work, might not. As an aside, my DVD+Rs work on a mates V5 R console and my V4.

Works but...

yes it works, but takes sometime to load the game, and sometime it doesnt even boot properly, I tested to burn Dropship game, and most of them doesnt work.

one funny thing was, it seems DVD+R which doesnt support 2.4X write speed, can not be burnt in my DVD+R burner, because my burner is 2.4X DVD, do you know why?, eventhough I set 1X recording speed in stomp record max but didnt work.

and if I use Ricoh media 2.4 speed support, it boots but doesnt want to continue loading the game, its like hung. I use final fantasy X.

Which one is the best DVD-R burner, and how much??, and how much shipment to australia (sydney)??

Thanks
