Red Magic 2 modchip?

Thanks BG for replying to my message. Your reply was very informative. Can I ask for your opinion on mod chips? I live in the U.S. so my PS2 is an NTSC. What would you recommend?

Would it be a big mistake to purchase say a Red Magic 2 modchip?

I understand that the Messiah 2 improves on a couple things like the ability to turn off and how games can boot with putting them in instead of having to push reset after the game is put in, but besides those advantages, Messiah 2 is basically operates the same way as the Magic 2 chip right?
