Ohhhhhh, Final Fantasy 9 (XI).
If you've got the NTSC version then it's got no protection. Not sure about the PAL version.

It depends on what type of modchip u have.
I have a PsOne and modded early year 2000 and i have FF IX (US version). Backed it up without any probs. Ok, I think I had to patch it with the psone patch but I think that the reson is that I have a PAL PsOne. Do u have a PAL och NTCS PsOne and is FF IX for pal och ntsc? Matt Slick... It is FF IX not FF XI... XI stands for eleven.

you will need NTSC to PAL patch for your backup http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches.shtml you can use the tutorial for CDRWin/ppf-o-matic from the above link. CDRWin at www.goldenhawk.com or www.psxcopyworld.co.uk (demo versions), ppf from psxcopyworld or megagames psx utilities section.

Ok, so only the NTSC-2-PAL Patch.. not any protection fix? I thought modded PSOne could play games from all regions (backed up or not). and one more thing.. does ALL NTCS backups need a patch to run properly on a modded PAL PSOne?
