A04 Fw1.32
Hi.
Has anybody updated their A04 firmware to 1.32, and if so has it had any effect on copying PS2 DVD games. Cos, Pioneer has released an official firmware update, if some of you didn't already know. Here is what they said... September 17, 2002 - As the DVD Forum releases the specifications for high-speed media, Pioneer Europe NV announces that a number of its DVD-R/RW computer drives and DVD-R/RW recorders will require a firmware update in order to use the new media and avoid potential damage to the units and media. This problem is caused by a “bug” in the unit’s firmware. The firmware update corrects internal code in the recorders and drives, which would otherwise malfunction when attempting to record to blank new high-speed media. The update process is simple and it is extremely important that consumers make sure it is completed prior to using the new high-speed media. The DVD Forum has established new specifications for high-speed write-once and re-recordable media (4X for DVD-R and 2X for DVD-RW). This media will be available in the marketplace in the near future. Recent tests conducted by Pioneer indicate that using the new high-speed media for recording without the firmware update will affect the following products: Pioneer DVR-A03 / DVR-103 DVD-R/RW Writer Pioneer DVR-A04 / DVR-104 DVD-R/RW Writer Pioneer DVR-7000 DVD-R/RW Recorder

 white label gen4 2x media is the new media they r talking about i know people who beeb using it already without the upgrade but its official upgrade im off to update my 104 now them calling it 1.32 leads me to believe the updates 1.30 and 1.31 were not as unoficial as first reported now pioneer releases 1.32 maybe they had something to do with 1.30 and 1.31

i have updated all looks fine
only problem is before my drive was no region 5 changes left it would play any region now its regio2 with 4 changes left (i expected it to b region set but it nicked 1 of my changes

When i flashed my Fw to 1.31 it still had region protection when i ran 'Driveinfo21' as i thought the 1.31 version i D/L from CDRinfo.com had been multi region hacked.

strange with fw1.31 drive info listed my drive not set
and it played ntsc i had black hawk down ntsc region 1 it played ok
