Black media isn't really recommended although the adverse difference is slight.
The difference is that black absorbs light in a situation where reflctivity and laser power is everything. If everything's in tip-top condition including the optical clarity of the compound then black media isn't going to be a problem. The cheapest black media should be avoided and will be troublesome in time if not now.
