Xbox/different dvd-r medias/laser adjustment
I'm planning to get Xbox modded with X-ecuter (i know it has few shortcomings) and got one worry:
How well does Xbox read different types of dvd-r anyway? I heard from somewhere that (newer) Xboxes tend to be very picky about dvd-r's, is that so? How many machines out of, let's say, 100 does need laser calibration?

The Xbox can’t read R disks trying burning and cd on an R and put it in the box it won’t read with or without a mod. They can read RW cds and DVD RW's. I have heard some people having success with DVD R's but most people say they don’t work.

Xbox's can't read cd-r's. How-ever, it can read dvd-r, dvd-rw, and cd-rw's fine. It all depends on the quality of the media. Very few xbox's have needed calibration in order to read cd's/dvd's other than xbox games.
