PS2 won't play any new DVD copies, but it will play the old ones

Yep.. been used for everything.. And to be fair, its still working as well as ever.

I have 2 DVD players.. A newsih Pioneer (Wichh plays everything) and an older Samsung.

The Samsung has always been a little tempremental playing DVD-Rs (which makes it a good benchmark) and it still plays DVD-Rs (whether writen recently or a long time ago) just as well (or badly) as ever.

Nothing seems to add up... I just seems that there is some incompatability between the Media, writer and PS2.

I think I might have to try some different media.. Just to be sure.. I have some TraxData, which I really like.. not sure how the PS2 will take them.
