PS2 won't play any new DVD copies, but it will play the old ones

If anything try putting your PS2 in a vertical position when booting your problematic games. That makes your laser a free floating laser (no gravity holding it back) allowing it to get closer to the disc without any resistance.

If your PS2 is already like that or this option doesnt work then Im sorry your laser may be quiting on you.
