luke.r,
Thanks; I have downloaded both, but I haven't been smart enough to figure them out! So far, both progs. have told me what type of protection the game (Superbike 2001 US) has which is Safedisc, but I don't know what to do with this information. One of the programs listed several files in the info stage, and I tried burning the disc without those files, but alas,,,,another frizbee. clonyxx is mostly written in the German language, even though I use the English version, my forefathers from Deutschland did not share their language with me. My only knowledge of German pertains to our beloved President Kennedy many years ago. He was speaking in Berlin in the early 60's, and was trying to impress the Germans by saying something like "Ich bin ein Berliner". He was trying to say he was a Berliner, but I guesss the actual translation was something like, " I am a jelly doughnut" Anyway, thanks for the reply, and if you can shed any further tips on using these 2 programs or steer me to where I can learn, I would appreciate. Well I can burn it. Maybe your burner not capable of it.

Luke,
I was able to copy my first game backup; everything went well. I'm sure that the other Junior member that just responded to your last post was "trying to be helpful" I run into a number of these types of responses in other forums that I moderate..... no useful solutions, just another "informative" response that gets the new member another post. Thanks again, and I'll continue to back up my data, all the while hoping that I won't run into SAFEDISC v.2.72 Phil |

Phil, who gives a crap about number of posts you have? The fact is, safedisc v2.72.00 has no current unwrapper, and I dont care what burner you have, you aint copying something with 2.72 on it right now.

You don't need an unwrapper to copy Safedisc 2.72. Safedisc is useless no matter what the version as long as you read it to an image with CloneCD at 4x.
Thank You |

Just out of curiousity,
How long should it take to clone a CD with ConeCD? I cloned my first CD with this prog. and it wrote the image to my HDD at only 7kbs. Task Manager only reports cpu usage at around 2%, so it doesn't seem to be dependent on system speed, as does dvd ripping and encoding (100% cpu usage) Are there some tweaks to speed up the process? Yes,
I have the latest version; I'm reading the info off of a Phillips 24x12x40 drive with an AMD XP2000+ and 512m Crucial PC2100 mem to a dedicated 15g UDMA100 HDD. I don't think is't a horsepower issue. It takes me about 12 hours to codec a 2 hr DVD to VCD, at high quality settings, which is very good; I guess I just haven't cloned enough games yet to get a feel for how long it should take. Phil |
