I personally don't like any of the software included with the 8230e! I recommend not even installing the DirectCD!!! EasyCD Creator 4.02 or higher, Nero, CDRwin (from GoldenHawk) are all very good burning software, but HP won't support your writer if you have technical difficulties and you are using anything other than the included software.
