CloneCD won't load up!!

Hi all!

As new to this board I'd first of all like to say HI to everyone.

And then there's the problem. Downloaded CloneCD the other day. The installation was succesful but when I try to start CloneCD I just get to a messagebox where I click in that I agree. The program interface loads up but it's blanked out. I can't use it what so ever. The only way to exit is to ctrl+alt+del and turn the program off.

I have a Mitsumi CR4804TE with latest firmware. I also have WinOnCD by CeQuadrat installed, can there be a conflict???

The blacklisted serial is out of the question as I DL'd the program from the official site, version 2.8.4.2. I did not enter any registration information what so ever. Any more suggestions??

I encountered a similiar problem while using a cd-rom emulator(dameon-tools, in my case). I had enabled a lot of emulated drives and then it took VERY long until CloneCD started up. So, if you use en Emulator, try to reduce the number of emulated devices and try cloneCD again. Maybe this helps you.

And an emulated driver is what?? (I'm kind of a newbie...)

Can my problem have something to do with how the devices are connected, ie primary slave and so on?

Would it help to disconnect the zip drive?

The emulated drive I was talking about is a virtual CD-ROM-drive. If you have an image of a CD, you can tell the virtual drive to mount the image and use it as a CD-ROM. This has the advantage that you don't need change the CD's in your 'real' drive and it's faster, because all the data is on your HD. I don't think your problem has something to do with a master or slave connection or if your drive is connected to primary or secondary IDE-Channel. I don't know anything about zip-drives, so in this point I can't help you.

Well it finally works, don't know how though. The trick is to give it time. After a while I press ctrl+alt+delete and try to manually shut the prog down, it then says the prog is not responding do you want to wait or shut it down. Well this time I pressed wait and after 45 secs or so it started... The only backside is that I have to repeat this procedure every time I want to use it...

Anyway, thanks for all your support guys!
