GTA3 Problems

I recently installed GTA3 on my computer using my friends copy. I then came here to get a no cd crack so i could play it without using his cd. I downloaded one and followed the directions. I started the game and it was working great through the intro, and the credits at the beggining but when i get to the main screen it says to insert disc2. What did i do wrong or what can i do to make it so i can PLAY THE FREAKING GAME!!!! I would really appreciate any kind of support. Thank You.
