helping backing up a couple games

Hi, I need some help backing up Street Fighter 3 EX and Time Splitters. I have tried them with CloneCD and I get a read error while trying to write CD image to disk. I thought it might be the disk so I got a buddies version and tried it and it still did it. Seems like there is some protection of them. I also tried using CDRwin to extract to disk but same thing. Can someone please help me with these two backups.

REPLY: Trying to think this through logically (I have no knowledge of the protection status of these games): If you have a fully compatible burner for CloneCD, then if the input media is good, I would expect the copy to succeed including any protection. So what about your burner?

Next - your buddie's CD. Was it an original? Was the one you were copying from an original? If they were backups, could they both have come from the same flawed source and did those source backups work?
