PSX boot-disc
Hi Muon Tracker, Ive have simular problem with my boot disc and I
called Game-Gizmo and found that my older PSX needed a different boot-disc than a new PS ONE.He asked what color my boot-disc was,it was silver,he said i needed a black[or blue i forget] anyway Ihave to send it back to get right one, maybe you also got wrong one. Kidxtc you use Verbaitem cd-rs,I was wonderihg if they are made in Japan or Taiwan,I read that cd-rs fron Taiwan dont work good ror psx copies and all the Verbaitem I can find are made there. The one I use has a Green and Black label NTSC version 2.0 and has a black bottom just like a Playstation game.

I use the blue print and silver CD with a silver back...version 3.0N. It does work excellent now that I use CDRWIN3.8G with the correct settings.

Yea I got the silver back one sent to me but I needed the black backed one for my older psx.Good think I have a gold finger already so I can still boot up to play burns.
By the way what type of cd-r's do you guys like to use?I've tried Fuji,Memerx and Maxells, all have worked, but only about 80% as still get a few costers.Verbatum seems to be the experts choice on this forum I need to try them. |

I use Verbatims, I'm not sure about the whole Taiwan issue. From my experience, any media with a blue bottom, those seem to be the best.

Just want to add my 2 cents to this subject. I had been a PC gamer for the most part, just recently purchased a PSone b/c the price of it was so cheap. From even before I got it I heard about modchips and boot disks. I could never actually try one since I dind't have a psx. Well after I got one I went net' surfing and when I did I found a website based in Hong Kong. www.lik-sang.com , they said they had the PS-X-Change disk, I read about it on other sites, they claimed it worked so for a totalof 21 dollars I ordered one. After I got I I started testing my backups and all but a few worked like 26 out of 30. And now I notice that the ones that didn't work were b/c they needed a patch. Now all work. I would highly reccomend the PS-X-Change boot disk to anyone.

Muon Tracker, did you managed to get the Harry potter copy to work with the PSXChangeV2?
Should I always try to run the originals with this boot disk before making backups? The ideia is that if the originals work, a perfect copy should work too!? Please advise. My HP backup doesn't work like the original. It's a UK version. cheers EE |

I can't use GameShark
I had the same problem with Harry Potter, and other EA games. The Import Player CD took care of the blank screen. My problem is, using a boot CD, and the Import Player, I can't use GameShark. Bummer! Has anyone found a work around for this? I know I could mod the PSX, but until now, I haven't had to! I use CDRWIN to burn. Is the problem still there burning with other software?
