Warcraft III Problem! (read it)

I have a no cd hack for Wc3 and when I play.....mostly this error comes up saying:

This application has encountered a critical error:

FATAL ERROR!

Program: C:\PROGRAM FILES\WARCRAFT III\WAR3.EXE
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0177:150205F0

Someone help me fix this problem or tell me where to get a better no cd hack!

Hmmm.

I used to get that problem ALL THE TIME with the beta version of warcraft 3, I haven't had it yet on the retail, if you need another cd crack thats not hard, they can be found all over, but I doubt that is your problem, a reinstall of the game and a repatch may help, or possibly upgrading video card drivers, post system specs, that may help people diagnose the problem.

I have heard that these problems occur only during attempted multi-player connection, as the no-cd was only intended for single player games. It's hard to be more precise without knowing what windows version your running.

It could be a driver problem, or your crack may have fecked things up within the prog itself.

At the end of the day, any cracks/patches are "dirty". They mess with a progs code so they're not always perfect. On-line CRC (cyclical redundancy check - tests integrity of file to ensure no tampering) checks are becoming common, so if you want to play without cd, use Daemon Tools.

And finally, a "video driver upgrade" is exactly that. An updated set of drivers (programs that enable hadrware from different manufacturers to communicate with windows and other software) may be available for your video card which may resolve this kind of problem you're having.

This isnt related to the crack. Read Blizzard's support forum. People with or without the crack have the same problem. I BOUGHT the game and cant play it for more than 2 mins without it locking up. Ive update all my drivers, mb bios, checked my ram, reformatted with hardrive with both 98se and XP, and done all of the possible solutions on the blizzard support site, all to play this game and none of it worked. Blizzard just put out a game that doesnt work for some people. I just pray for a patch.

I'm having the same fatal errors... here are my sys specs, maybe someone has similar hardware n stuff...

OS: Win 2K Pro
CPU: 866 PIII
Ram: 512 MB Ram
GPU: GeForce 2 GTS w/ 64 MB Ram
Audio: Sound Blaster Live! Platinum
MB: VIA chipset
(this is my system from 2 years ago, time to build a new one!)

I have all of the latest drivers and updates possible for my system , I'm guessing it's a Win 2K issue or a GPU issue... Another thing that happens sometimes when the game crashes is my sys reboots itself... now I've had this problem in the past with Half-Life (under both Win98SE and Win2KPro after a vid driver upgrade or sys reinstall) and I've always had to mess and tweak the vid settings to get it to work... I've tweaked and messed around for about 4 hours now, and can't get War3 to run more than a few minutes... here's a partial paste of one of my messages:

This application has encountered a critical error:

FATAL ERROR!

Program: c:\program files\warcraft iii\war3.exe
Exception: 0xC000001D (ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION) at 001B:05D0F198

and another:

This application has encountered a critical error:

FATAL ERROR!

Program: c:\program files\warcraft iii\war3.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:029DCA0B

The instruction at '0x029DCA0B' referenced memory at '0xFFFFFFFF'.
The memory could not be 'read'.

These are the two versions I am getting... sorry to take up so much space, but I just wanted to put out more info...
