it is possible that your OS (winXP?) breaks your videos...

Control Panel

Advanced Tab
Fifth
Performance
Sixth
Advanced Settings
Seventh
Change Memory Usage to Programs instead of cache
Eighth
select Optimize Performance for Background Services
