You are a little confused.

ASPI layer has nothing to do with cd copy protections. It is an acronym for "advanced scsi programer's interface" and is merely a collection of progs designed to instill some conformity to hardware/software interactions.

You seem to be thinking of ATIP layer maybe. This is a readable ONLY area of a cdr/cdrw which identifies the mdeia type, manufacturer etc.

It isn't a question of copying it, (as pressed cds do not contain it)more a case of hiding it from software which use it to id the cd as not pressed original.

This is not a defect of any cd writer (most readers cannot read atip) but actually an important function as the cd writer must now the characteristics of a cdr to be burned.
