Max Payne Help!

I fully installed Max Payne, and downloaded a NO-CD patch, and replaced the original .exe with the patch. Everything seemed to be workin fine, but once it hit the "Loading" screen, Windows said that Max Payne had performed an illegal operation and will be shut down:

(MAXPAYNE caused an invalid page fault in
module E2MFC.DLL at 016f:008ee764.)

This really makes me mad , cuz I've tried 2 different patches.....Any ideas or solutions?!?! Thanks!
