LG 24x10x40x GCE-8240B

hi everybody here...

Unfortunately i've bought LG GCE-8240B firmware 1.7

.... is it that bad??? could firmware updatin will solve some of its problems?

i tried to copy "for backup" red-alert Yuri revenged and other games using CloneCD v4.0 but i couldn't make any usefull cd except for Wolfenstein....

any help plz
