problems with cd-r´s

Hi ya´ll. i just copped the dreamcast one month ago. (yes, i know im kinda late, but the dc came as a bundle with three games for only 70 bucks as a special offer)
now i tried to burn some games. i.e. i tried the utopia boot disc and crazy taxi 2. (i´ve done exactly like described in the faq´s)
but when i put them in my dc. i get the audio-screen. and they dont get recognized as game-disks.
after wasting a bunch of cd-r´s i stumbled upon the info that the post nov´2000 produced dc´s cant play backup gd. now, wtf.

since i just purchased the dc i guess thats where the problem lies in. but im wondering why i can play burned audio-cd´s (or does that have nothing to do with it???)

btw. i searched everywhere on the dc and the package, the production date were nowhere to be found.

maybe ya´ll can help me out on that. (its the crazy taxi,tomb raider, uefa dream soccer bundle bought in germany)
