pal/ntsc patching tutorials and help please

I have patched about 6 psx a while back , i now have a power puff girls game here for my daughter and i need to patch it , although pal4u is easy my problem is the version of cdrwin i have is 3,8d which is easy , but it does not support my 24x plextor burners , so i cant burn the image , i now have cdrwin5 now and have not got a clue how to extract the track or burn with it as ant tutorial is for old versions and v5 is totally different , it does not seem to burn old cdrwin images .
Some tutorials on programs i can use would be nice as i need them to support my 24x plex , any assistance here please guys ..
